It's time to reveal my new art studio space! I did this space as part of a design challenge called The One Room Challenge.
This space is my studio here in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's part of an artist collective in Dilworth Artisian Station, a 100 year old building that was previously a lingerie factory and then a parachute factory during WWII. I share this rented space with my friend and neighbor, Sabra, who will be making jewelry there. Because it’s a rental, and we are aware that we could just have two years there before the owners decide to develop the property, I was somewhat limited in what I could do so I made changes that did not require much investment. I used existing electrical for the lights, peel and stick wallpaper and marble contact paper to zhush the counters without changing them. I brought in my Bari J. for Joybird sofa and used my own fabric designs.
Let's first review the before of and the inspiration for this space though. The bottom left two photos are what it looked like when I started.
(I will link products at the end of this post)

AFTER
The Cabinets were painted Luau Green by Sherwin Williams, and I reupholstered the chairs in Bari J. for Art Gallery Fabrics. The table was found locally at an antique mall. It's an old pub table with barley twist legs.
I made the lampshades from kits I got on Amazon and added fringe from Fringe market. The mural is a Bari J. for Murals Your Way piece that you can buy.
