Hi it's Abbey and Laurel again, here to take over Bari's blog with more adorable sewing inspiration! This time, Abbey will be sharing all the fun outfits we were able to create with this amazing fabric! As a reminder, you can find more of Laurel's creations on instagram @sewingchrysanthemum and Abbey's @creativebutton.
This post will feature more of the Sage line of prints in knit. Sewing with Art Gallery knit is a dream! Its so incredibly soft and the girls love playing in it. It's cute enough for special occasions, but comfortable enough for every day play too. My girls reach for these outfits all the time.
For this little outfit I used Simple Life Pattern Company's Baby Sarah Ann leggings and Baby Adelynns Scoop Back in top length. Both patterns have fun little options and I especially love how fast and easy the leggings are to make!
For my older daughter, I used Chloe leggings and Isla's in a top length, both patterns are also from Simple Life Pattern Company (SLPCO). At first she thought having coyotes on her top would be funny (she's my total girly girl), but once I pointed out the pink cactus and showed her the cute heart cutout detail in the back she was sold! She loved wearing this outfit to preschool this year!
These leggings also have lots of fun detail options and are another quick sew! Isla's top and dress also has lots of options and if you join SLPCO's facebook group you can find several more back cutouts in addition to the heart, including a butterfly, star and Mickey ears!
I love that my girls still like to match each other, and even though I used different fabrics in each outfit, they coordinate so well together!
Laurel also made her daughter Baby Adelynn from SLPCO but made the dress version. She also added the bow closure in the back and cute ruffle sleeve details. We both love having patterns that allow you to create so many different looks from just one pattern!
Laurel created this adorable headband using Barb's Knit Headband which is a FREE pattern from SLPCO. Doesn't it just complete the look? (And also, look at those eyes! So gorgeous!)
The last dress featured here is Laurel from Petite Stitchery & Co. Our friends daughter is such a cute model and now that Laurel has sewn clothes for her and her older sister (she'll be featured in the next post), they won't accept store bought dresses anymore!
This pattern can be made as a tunic or a dress and has the cutest ruffle on the bottom that dips at the sides making it so trendy!
Making these clothes is so fun, the hardest challenge sometimes is capturing pictures of these tiny models who often have their own agenda! This photo shoot turned out to be extra fun with 4 girls ranging in age from 1-5. Capturing these last shots was major team work with trying to have the older girls help by holding the younger girls hands, who didn't always want their hand held! Laurel stood in front of the girls and ran backwards as they walked towards her while I shot pics from behind! You have to be creative and quick with these girls who just want to have fun together!
Thanks again Bari for letting us takeover your blog again and sharing your beautiful Sage fabric with us!
