As you know, we have been working on our master bedroom. The plan was to create a restful oasis with color and pattern, that has been curated to have a modern feel... Modern Maximalist Master. I'm all about curating that maximalism as I say.
what we got done this week
• I finished and hung the chinoiserie style art.
• I re-covered that mid century bench that was covered in leather in pink velvet. I have to admit, I could have used an upholstery staple remover for this job, but the pliers and screwdriver did the trick, albeit my hand was bruised. As you can see, Sadie Kay Pug (my parent's dog who I have been babysitting) is all about the bench.
• Kevin (Super Husband) hung the Colette Chandelier from My Mitzi. (sponsored) We are utterly in love!
• Kevin has been working on the floating nightstands. These are two floating shelves that will be on each side of the bed.
• I sewed two pillow cases from my Bloomsbury fabric collection.
ˆ• ˆThe credenza arrived from Modern Manor. I was quite relieved that Kevin liked it as much as I do. It is burlwood and we think it may be attributed to Milo Baughman because it had a chrome base originally, but there's no tags, so, there's no telling. However, similar pieces are on Chairish with that attribute.
• I've decided to keep the TV wall pretty much white with the exception that I'm putting a hanging plant in the far corner for a little life. A side note, our tv is a Sony, and I'm using the Sony Picture sharing app to put photos on the screen. I love that it doesn't have to be a big black box as I obviously lost the argument about having a TV in the bedroom. I sincerely hate them in the bedroom. The hub disagrees, but he has a floral ceiling so whatever.
what's left to do
• Finish and install the floating night stands (that doesn't sound like much, but it's actually quite a bit when you are a perfectionist like my husband. LOL)
• Hang plant in far corner
• Find large plant for corner with chinoiserie
• Paint a planter
• Sew more pillows ... I want the pillowcases to be a bit bigger and I'd like to have an extra set
• Move TV down and bury wires in the wall
• Change all outlets to white if there's time left and if I can talk Kevin into it
